Trane® Outlines Best Practices for Developing an Intelligent Building Strategy at Realcomm and IBCon

Press Releases HVAC, Ingersoll Rand, Trane

San Diego, CA, June 14, 2017 — Trane, a leading global provider of indoor comfort systems and services and a brand of Ingersoll Rand, will attend Realcomm and IBCon 2017 on June 14-15 in San Diego, CA. Connected building expert Dave Molin, vice president of controls products for Trane North America and EMEA, will introduce an education panel on intelligent buildings as part of the pre-conference activities taking place on June 13 at 2:00pm PT.

Titled “Intelligent Buildings Bootcamp,” the panel will educate conference attendees on the benefits of smart buildings and provide guidance on developing the right strategy and team for transitioning to intelligent building systems. Molin will discuss the need for energy services and building controls solutions for the successful execution of a smart building strategy.

“Buildings consume almost half of the world’s energy – and much of that can be attributed to heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) and lighting systems,” said Dave Molin. “Connected buildings promise to help building owners and facility managers drive lasting results, but challenges remain around demystifying the vast amounts of data that are collected. The right set of digital solutions and services can help building owners make sense of that data and optimize their building’s performance, achieving long-term business outcomes.”

Buildings account for more than 40 percent of US energy consumption[1]. Through the use of technology and automation, connected buildings have the potential to optimize performance, decreasing operation costs and driving overall efficiency. Molin will discuss the benefits of deploying connected building solutions and outline Trane’s expertise in digital services and systems, sharing real-world customer examples and successes from the field.

Trane will be showcasing new connected building products and service offerings at Realcomm and IBCon 2017, including the newly introduced Trane Tracer® Ensemble™ building management system and Trane Air-Fi® CO2 Wireless System, which can optimize building performance and enable more efficient building management.
